This historical, wooden parish church was built before 1620 in Ruptawa (which is part of Jastrzębie-Zdrój today), on the site of an even older building. From 1971-1972, the church was torn down and rebuilt with minor changes in Kaczyce. It was consecrated again after the transfer on 25th June 1972. In 1973, a bell made in the foundry in Ostrava, weighing 350 kilograms, was placed on the church tower.
