On your travels through the region, the Empire gem of Fryštát Château is a must-see. Visiting can be an unforgettable experience, not only for lovers of historical monuments. The Château in Karviná is one of the rare witnesses of local history. Tourists can visit all year round, and the abundance of attractions on offer is unique on a regional scale. Three fixed sightseeing routes lead through 33 sumptuously furnished chambers. One of them is devoted to the most famous Czech artists of the 19th century. From the very beginning, the stylish palace made a great impression, but apart from this secular monument, there are other important buildings in the city, such as the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, which is the oldest monument in the city and certainly the tallest building in the historic centre. The church can be visited outside the hours of church services and as a part of a special sightseeing route including the palace and the church.
